About Me

A baby looking up at his mom in Austin Texas

My name is Amanda Russell. After completing my BA in Early Childhood Studies and Intervention, I went on to obtain my IBCLC credential (the highest credential offered in lactation support). Shortly after my first son was born in 2016, I decided that I was going to spend my life supporting moms in their breastfeeding journeys. Many people asked if my own struggles drove this - and the answer is yes! Looking back, I suspect that my son had an undiagnosed tongue and lip ties that I attribute to many of our issues. Despite these undiagnosed issues, breastfeeding was successful, which I am thankful for. The following years, I devoted my time to peer support, eventually to completing 500 hours of mother/baby breastfeeding support in a local clinic and passing the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants exam in 2020.

I live in Austin, Texas with my husband and four sons. We enjoy the outdoors, exploring new spots around the city, and participating in our house church community!
