How long are in-home lactation consultations?
Home visits usually last 60-90 minutes. Please let us know if you have any time constraints that we need to be mindful of.
What is the self-pay cost for an in-home lactation consultation?
Single baby
Initial Postpartum Visit - $275
Follow Up Postpartum Visits - $225
Twins
Initial Postpartum Visit - $350
Follow-up Postpartum Visits - $300
You will be provided with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network lactation coverage (this is solely between you and your insurance company; we are not able to contact your insurance directly).
*Travel fee may apply for some areas that are outside of our standard range (see below).
Do you accept insurance?
We accept insurance through third-party billing companies: Wildflower Health(Cigna) and The Lactation Network (UHC and Aetna).
If approved for insurance coverage, there will be a travel fee that applies to home visits (see below for more travel fee infomation).
Your plan needs to be approved prior to our consultation (please allow 1-2 business days for your form to be processed). If your plan is not approved before our consultation, you will be responsible for the self-pay cost of the visit if your plan is denied.
What will the cost of my travel fee be?
With TLN or Wildflower:
All home visits have a $75 travel fee that insurance does not cover.
Self-Pay Clients:
0–20 miles: Travel fee included in consultation cost
20+ miles: $25 travel fee
The travel fee will be clearly communicated to you before your visit.
